So I just finished my first week working as a doctor in a relatively busy metropolitan hospital. Apart from feeling completely lost for the first few days, I now experience first hand what my seniors were always warning me about. I'm a slave to my pager. I have very nice bosses who are very helpful and understanding... but they're not there ALL the time to hold my hand. Suddenly I have to stop being the faceless student who always stands behind the curtains and start being the one actually doing stuff and answering questions and stabbing people etc.
Internship, in a nutshell, is about mastering the paperchase while not actually killing any of my patients. But by "paperchase", I mean the paper chases me. Always.
Ever think about integrating a wifi system to touch pads and a database for your hospital...Imagine replacing all those papers with one single electronic device and finding/ the correct forms in seconds.
